Marriage Mentoring

We were blessed to have worked with Jimmy as our counselor during a dire season in our marriage. We were at an extremely crucial crossroad, desperate for help navigating uncharted waters and hopeful to salvage a marriage that could potentially end in divorce.
Jimmy was knowledgeable, supportive, patient and listened with complete attention. He helped us formulate a plan and provided us with valuable tools, resources and skills to help ensure success. We always left our session feeling equipped, encouraged and better able to navigate our situation. Through his guidance, God’s grace and our hard work we were able to over come this enormous obstacle and find reconciliation.
We are seven years strong, and God has used that season for his glory through allowing us to become marriage mentors, share our testimony with others and walk alongside those in similar situations. We are abundantly thankful to God for his healing touch on our marriage and how he used Jimmy’s gift of counseling to help us rebuild and restore our marriage.

Premarital Mentoring
We met Jimmy and Christy through Northside Christian Church prior to commencing our vows. We had never been through counseling at this point in our relationship and were uncertain of what might take place. In a sense this was a way to check off the to dos in preparation for the wedding. We both went into this with an open mind and thought this would be finished in a few sessions and we could move forward, however, what we ended up discovering was that our relationship wasn’t as healthy as it needed to be. Week after week we attended counseling and learned foundational tools to help us deal with disagreements both big and small, challenges that life throws at you and most importantly how to love each other the way Christ intended us to. We were both young and naïve, living life through the typical rose-colored glasses. It was an eye-opening and humbling event that changed the trajectory of how we proceeded in our relationship, it was apparent that we needed to work on and through many things. It is because of their guidance, prayers, and leadership that we formed who we are as husband and wife, parents, business owners and friends today. Seeing them both live out their marriage by putting Jesus Christ first and loving each other was a testament of what they wanted for us. Their advice and tools have been what has kept our marriage alive and healthy through the past ten years. We can both attest that they have impacted us deeply and we are forever grateful for them both.
